Two men charged in shooting death of 4-year-old boy in Highland
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) - District Attorney Mike Ramos announced the filing of murder charges in connection to a shooting in Highland that left a 4-year-old boy dead.

Darron Daniels, 20, of Moreno Valley, and Maurice Kelley, 25, of San Bernardino, were both charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Daniels and Kelley were arraigned Monday at the San Bernardino Justice Center and will return August 11th for a pre-preliminary hearing. Bail is set at $2 million.

Daniel Munoz was playing in the front yard of his grandmother's home on McKinley Street Wednesday evening when shots were fired from a passing car. Daniel died minutes later at a local hospital.

"My heart hurts today for the family of young Daniel who was shot and killed Tuesday night," District Attorney Mike Ramos said. "As a father and grandfather, I can't even begin to imagine the pain they must be feeling right now. This is still an active investigation, but one thing is certain. Whether this is gang-related or not, an innocent child was shot and killed and taken away from us. We will not allow our children to be gunned down. The cowards who committed this senseless crime will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law and justice will be served for Daniel and his family."
