Firefighters closing the noose on Anza wildfire
ANZA – (INT) – A 450-acre wildfire is not expected to be contained until Friday.

It was started Monday by a motorhome that caught fire on Highway 74 east of Anza. The highway was been reopened Tuesday between Palm Desert and Route 371.

Three firefighters were hurt and one other person suffered burns during the early stages of the fire. The firefighters were released after hospital treatment.

A precautionary evacuation center was briefly opened at Hamilton High School in Anza and was then closed. All evacuations have been cancelled.
