Storms regroup for afternoon onslaught SOUTHLAND - (INT) - Summer is on its worst behavior. Flash flooding is likely as the heat mixes with tropical moisture creating afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service is maintaining a flash flood watch through Thursday as a heat wave reaches the half-way point. Drier air will filter into Southern California beginning Saturday helping with a slow cool down. The heat wave has sent temperatures to their highest marks of the year in some communities. Tuesday marked the second day of the late summer heat wave.
