Teacher cleared in high school hazing
RANCHO CUCAMONGA – (INT) – A masonry teacher has been acquitted of all felony charges in connection with alleged hazing at the A.B. Miller High School in Fontana.

A Superior Court jury exonerated Emmanuel De La Rosa of six counts including child abuse and false imprisonment.

But, his co-defendant, former student Fernando Salgado, 21, pleaded guilty to felony assault, was placed on 36 months probation and ordered to get counseling.

Fontana police alleged the hazing was confined to a single classroom during summer school 3-years ago. One student suffered minor injuries stemming from behavioral issues, police said.

Other school district employees were unaware of the incidents. De La Rosa, now 30, was placed on administrative leave at the time.
