Storms to ease, downtown LA soaked
SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Southern California weather will have a chance to dry out and gradually turn warmer after several days of mountain and desert tumult.

Cars were nearly underwater in Boyle Heights near downtown Los Angeles after rains caused flooding on Monday.

Bernal Avenue and 6th Street were flooded, forcing drivers to stop. Clogged drains were the problem, according to Los Angeles County Fire. The drain was cleared later Monday night.

In the mountains, 1.12” was measured Sunday at Snow Peak, .31” at Oak Glen and .11” at Beaumont.

Forecasters expect areas west of the mountains to remain dry Monday and Tuesday, but there’s enough residual moisture to touch off more activity in the deserts.
