Mother Nature prepares dramatic weather changes
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Strong, drying high pressure is chasing away the autumn storm that brought showers and the coolest weather in nearly 5-months to Southern California.

The 2-day storm unleashed some intense rain cells Monday afternoon. Most followed an eastward trek along the Route 210 corridor from the San Gabriel Valley through the San Bernardino Valley. Some took a detour into Riverside County.

The result was flood advisories, water-logged streets and scores of traffic accidents.

Rain also drenched the High Desert as the center of the storm swept out of the Antelope Valley, through the Barstow-Victorville area and into the Colorado River Valley.

Along the coast, some rainfall records for October 5th were set including nearly an inch at Newport Beach.

Light snow fell on the highest peaks of the San Bernardino Mountains. Temperatures early Tuesday slipped to 30 degrees at Big Bear.

In the wake of the storm, a dramatic turnabout is predicted. High pressure is about to take over. Sunshine will quickly dry the landscape pushing valley temperatures toward the century mark by the end of the week.

2-day storm totals to 6pm Monday:

Riverside .22
San Bernardino .25
Ontario .38
French Valley .95
Temecula .65
Moreno Valley .18
Perris .29
Lytle Creek 1.41
Cedar Glen 1.50
Yucaipa Ridge 3.03
