TV soap star David Canary dies
WILTON, CONN - Veteran TV star David Canary has died. He was 77.

Canary, who played twins Adam and Stuart on 'All My Children', and also Steve on 'Another World', died Nov. 16 of natural causes, according to the Bulletin newspaper of Wilton, Conn., near his home.

A native of Indiana, brought up in Ohio, Canary followed a path similar to other actors of his generation, starting out in theater in New York before turning to film and TV roles.

He was in 'Hombre' with Paul Newman, and appeared in recurring roles for years on shows such as 'Gunsmoke' and 'Bonanza'.

His first soap role of note was playing Mia Farrow's physical therapist, Russ Gehring, on the nighttime soap, 'Peyton Place', in the mid-1960s.

Starting in early 1980s, he became a fixture on 'Children' for 26 years, during which he won five Outstanding Actor Awards and 16 nominations between 1985 and 2008. At the time of his fourth Emmy, in 1993, it was the most ever won by an individual actor.

One of his famous soap co-stars, Kelly Ripa, played his daughter. (Source: The Bulletin)
