Holiday traffic fatalities down sharply, DUI arrests up
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – The traffic death toll for the long Thanksgiving holiday was sharply lower.

Five people lost their lives across Riverside and San Bernardino counties compared to eight fatalities for the same Thanksgiving period last year. The 10 year average is seven.

Statewide, there were 35 deaths compared to 45 in 2014.

The California Highway Patrol reported making more DUI arrests, 1,028, during its 150 hour maximum enforcement period.

The CHP's Inland Division made 98 DUI arrests.

Among Riverside County’s fatalities were a young Fontana woman and her 3-year-old daughter who perished in an accident on the I-15 in Eastvale.
