Councilman, City Hall make amends
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – A year-old flap between City Councilman Paul Davis and former city manager Scott Barber is over.

It was announced Monday that a claim Davis filed against the city has been settled.

Barber initially claimed that Davis was creating a hostile work environment at City Hall. Davis denied the accusation and filed a claim against the city, asserting violations of his civil rights. Davis was not allowed to present evidence or witnesses in his defense during the 2014 investigation.

Davis says he wants to set the record straight as both sides have reached an agreement calling for the city to make a public acknowledgement and Davis a reply.

In a written statement, Davis said everyone “will devote 100% of our attention where it belongs – on serving the citizens of Riverside.”
