FONTANA – (INT) – A roaring fire destroyed 2-acres of pallets Wednesday at the Woodland pallet yard.

The burning pallets were stacked 40-feet high and sent up clouds of smoke visible for miles. Train traffic on nearby railroads was halted for a while.

Dozens of fire fighters from as far away as Rancho Cucamonga, Rialto and Colton battled the 2-alarm blaze keeping it away from nearby buildings.

There were no injuries or evacuations. The cause of the early morning fire is being investigated.
