Schools to divide millions in lottery sales
SACRAMENTO - (INT) - California schools are likely to cash in on Powerball lottery sales.

In just the last 2-months, ticket sales surpassed all of the last fiscal year. That could translate to $1.44 billion for the state's schools this year, according to the California Lottery Commission.

The jackpot earlier this month hit a record $1.5 billion. One of three winning tickets was sold at a convenience store in Chino Hills. It has still not surfaced. Whoever bought it has a year to claim their portion of the jackpot.
