Gas tax revenue hits $6.8 billion SACRAMENTO – (INT) – Gasoline consumption is the latest sign that California’s recession is in the rear view mirror.
The State Board of Equalization reports that gasoline purchases in the state rose 2.4 percent during fiscal year (FY) 2014-15, the largest annual increase in 11-years. The trend of rising gasoline consumption continued into the third quarter of 2015 (July – September), increasing 2.7 percent. Gas tax revenue estimates exceeded $6.8 billion.
