Warm weather, cheaper gas beckons motorists SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Gasoline prices continue to slip as motorists que up for a sunny and warm Presidents’ Day weekend.
The Automobile Club finds that pump prices are now within 15-cents of last year’s low point. Inland Empire prices have fallen another 10-cents from the prior week and are about 45-cents lower than last month. Southern California motorists are still paying the most in the nation. The Auto Club’s Jeff Spring has an explanation: “This is because of the continued impact of the Exxon Mobil Torrance refinery closure. But there’s a chance local drivers could see more gas stations charging less than $2 a gallon before prices reverse course for the spring turnaround season.” Story Date: February 18, 2016
