Maurice White, Bob Elliott remembered
LOS ANGELES - (INT) - Two pioneer entertainers are being remembered for their contributions to comedy and music.

Maurice White, founder of the rock band Earth, Wind and Fire, has died at his home in Los Angeles. White was 74 and suffered from Parkinson's Disease. He once hoped his music would inspire young people, not just entertain them. His band reached its peak in the 1970's and 80's.

Comic Bob Elliott has died at his home in Maine. He was 92. Elliott teamed with Ray Goulding and entertained audiences on radio and television for 45-years. Goulding died in 1990.

Perhaps the most endearing, character they created was Elliott’s mild-mannered but radio reporter, Wally Ballou. 'Bob and Ray' were best remembered for their regular segments on NBC's weekend radio magazine 'Monitor'.
