SAN JACINTO – (INT) – The financial officer of a local church is under suspicion of embezzlement.

Two search warrants turned up about half of the $250,000 missing from a local synagogue. Investigators also recovered some construction equipment

Church elders reported the alleged embezzlement in December 2013.

Arrested Wednesday in Hemet was Gerald Max Beamesderfer Jr., 64, of Hemet.
