Corona mail thieves indicted
CORONA – (INT) – The feds have struck a blow against mail thieves in the Inland Empire.

Local authorities have mounted an offensive against an epidemic of mail thief crews that have been canvassing many neighborhoods and now the the United States Postal Inspection Service has joined in.

Two men and a woman have been indicted for using a counterfeit key to help themselves to the contents of 300 mailboxes at the Sierra Del Oro apartment complex in Corona on April 12th and hauling away a large quantity of mail.

Under federal indictment are Bernie Martinez, 23, Kammi Leigh Vestesen, 24, and Hector Mendez, 29, of Corona.

Authorities did not say if any of the stolen mail was recovered.
