Purchasing managers underscore region's growth
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – The local economy was off to a good start for the first four months of 2016.

Figures issued Monday suggest that the local manufacturing sector and the local economy were in growth mode.

The Employment Index showed growth for the third month in a row. Purchasing managers indicated that they were adding positions that were permanent and not temporary.

Dr. Barbara Sirotnik, Director of the Institute of Applied Research at CalState San Bernardino, said the latest Purchasing Manager’s Index reflects “increasing consumer confidence and the expectation that consumer purchases will increase in the near future.”

About two-thirds of the purchasing managers surveyed believe that the local economy will remain unchanged for the coming quarter.
