Fire strikes Redlands church, Sunday school classrooms damaged
REDLANDS – (INT) – Fire has ripped through another local church.

One firefighter fell through a weakened section of the roof but was uninjured and returned to work. Another suffered a back injury. A Redlands firefighter was treated for fatigue and heat exhaustion as afternoon temperatures neared the 90 degree mark.

The 3-alarm fire on Cypress Avenue was attributed to a roof repair job underway at the time. The cause was accidental.

In Riverside County, the cause of a weekend fire at the Community First Church of God in Homeland has defied explanation.

The church was vacant at the time Saturday night.
