Deputies slay youth brandishing a knife
TEMECULA – (INT) – A teenager with a knife who threatened sheriff’s deputies was shot and killed late Wednesday.

The deputies had responded to a 911 call at a residence on Hislop Way where they were confronted by Matthew Tucker in a garage. The officers opened fired as the 18-year-old boy stepped toward them. Tucker died later at a local hospital.

A statement from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department did not give any details about the initial call for help.

It did not indicate how many officers were involved, but all are on administrative leave pending an investigation.
