Murder victims found in vehicles
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Investigators say the victim of the city’s 28th homicide of the year had been assaulted and robbed and was chasing his assailants when he was shot and killed.

Police responded to reports of gunfire Monday night on West Poplar Avenue and found Christian Morales mortally wounded inside his vehicle. Morales, 19, of Colton, later died of his injuries.

Investigators determined the initial assault occurred at nearby Lytle Creek Park. Police released no suspect information Tuesday.

In nearby Highland, another man was found brutally stabbed in his vehicle on Baseline Street. He died early Tuesday at the Loma Linda University Medical Center.
