Demonstration zones for Trump visit
SAN DIEGO--Thousands of supporters and opponents of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump faced off in front of the San Diego Convention Center Friday as the real estate magnate campaigned in San Diego for the first time.

Numerous opposition groups, from organized labor to immigration advocates, marched to the center and demonstrated outside.

The city designated demonstration zones -- one for Trump supporters and another for those who oppose the billionaire's presidential bid. Protestors and supporters heckled and jeered each other off and on. In one incident, a police officer clubbed an anti-Trump protestor trying to climb over a railing. Later, police declared an unlawful assembly and arrested at least four people.

Before Trump's arrival at Lindbergh Field in his private plane, former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin began speaking to his supporters in an unannounced appearance as the convention hall filled up.

Palin blasted the Obama Administration’s foreign policy priorities and said world leaders are rattled by the prospect of Trump becoming president.

Inside the convention center, the news media was recovering from a barrage of insults.

Earlier in Fresno, Trump declared "There is no drought" in California. Trump accused state officials of denying water to Central Valley farmers so they can send it out to sea “to protect a certain kind of three-inch fish” and he vowed to solve the state's water problems.
