California on downside for business friendliness
SACRAMENTO – (INT) – California is not so golden when it comes to business friendliness.

An annual Small Business Friendliness Survey issued Wednesday finds the state has yet to improve its overall business friendliness, earning an F and ranking #33 nationally for the second year in a row.

Thumbtack surveyed 12,169 skilled professionals and came up with these results:
· Disappointing grades for tax regulations and labor regulations drove an F overall for California.
· Cities in the Golden State had mixed ratings, ranging from C grades for Anaheim, Oakland, and San Diego to F's in San Francisco and Oxnard.
· California fails overall, earning an F in eight different categories.

Locally, Riverside averaged a ‘C’ ranking in nine categories. It got a D+ in the ease of starting a new business and an ‘F’ in training and networking programs.
Texas and Utah ranked 1-and-2 for having the best climate for skilled professionals.
