Drug war enters new phase TIJUANA – (INT) – US and Mexican authorities are improving cross-border intelligence to stem the flow of illegal drugs into Southern California.
Fifty-two pounds of crystal methamphetamines and heroin packaged for transport have been seized by Tijuana Municipal Police and military personnel. The 27 bundles carried a street value of just over $200,000, according to the Border Patrol. A 61-year-old man was arrested. “This seizure speaks volumes about the exceptional level of bi-national cooperation that the Border Patrol has with the government of Mexico,” San Diego Sector Chief Patrol Agent Richard Barlow said.
