Ontario's onetime Sunkist site gains new role ONTARIO – (INT) – The city’s historic Sunkist Citrus Packing Plant site is being re-purposed.
Commercial real estate developer, Majestic Realty Company, has broken ground for an industrial building that will provide nearly 500 new jobs and will be the home of Melmarc, a full package screen printing company. The Sunkist citrus packing plant at one time was the largest employer in the city. It was constructed in 1926 and remained a catalyst of growth until its sale in 2007. To preserve the historic integrity of the property as part of the agreement, the city will maintain the 1929 water tower that was used by Sunkist. Story Date: July 29, 2016
