Pit bull breeder facing charges in cruelty case
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Criminal animal cruelty warrants are being issued for a dog breeder and his wife following the recent discovery of eleven dead dogs and 27 others at the couple’s rented home.

Authorities said Monday that Carl Dixon is already incarcerated in Los Angeles on drug trafficking charges. The location of his wife, Kim Delagos, was not known at last report.

Dixon appeared before Riverside County Supervisors in 2013 to voice support for pit bulls and pit bull breeding. Dixon opposed an ordinance to regulate the reproduction of pit bulls and pit bull cross dogs. At one point, Dixon asked the ‘supes’ to have consideration for breeders that “conduct themselves in a responsible way.”

The dogs found at his home had been suffering from extreme dehydration.

All but one of the dogs taken to a shelter are said to be responding well. Another died.
