Suicide figures in train-pedestrian fatalities
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – An ongoing spate of pedestrian fatalities involving trains has claimed another life.

The coroner Tuesday identified the latest casualty as Anthony Martinez, 50, of Riverside.

Martinez was killed as he laid on the BNSF tracks near Arlington Avenue in Riverside late last Thursday night.

At least nine pedestrians have been struck and killed on railroad tracks in the Metro Inland Empire this year.

More pedestrians are being killed by trains in the city of Riverside than people in vehicles, and suicide has been a major factor.
