SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Police are hoping witnesses will step forward to help solve the city’s 41st homicide of the year.

Investigators traced the Wednesday night crime scene to an alley near 7th Street and Mt. Vernon Avenue where John Ramirez, 24, was shot and wounded.

Ramirez managed to reach La Plaza Park across the street where he collapsed and later died at San Bernardino Community Hospital.

Police say they have little suspect information.

Ramirez was the ninth person murdered in San Bernardino this month.
