Hurricane Norbert lashes Baja
CABO SAN LUCAS--Hurricane Norbert strengthened to a Category 3 storm before making a landfall in southern Baja Saturday.

Norbert is currently moving north-northeast. It was predicted to cross the peninsula and make a second landfall along the Mexico mainland coast Saturday evening.

As Norbert crosses the Baja and Mexican mainland, expect 25-to-30-foot high surf, damaging winds, and heavy rain with some flash flooding. Hurricane watches and warnings, as well as tropical storm warnings remain in effect for portions of the southern Baja and adjacent mainland Mexico.

By Sunday morning, Norbert will move across northwest Mexico where the mountains will result in rapid weakening. Moisture from Norbert will flow northeastward into eastern side of the Southwest and the Plains.

Tropical Storm Odile

As of Saturday morning, Tropical Storm Odile was located 90 miles west of Acapulco, Mexico, moving northwest at near 14 mph. Winds are 65 mph.

It is forecast to maintain this motion, tracking just offshore, but parallel to the Mexico coast over the next few days. (Source: Weather Channel)
