Eight blazes burn, more fire fighters sent home
Over 3,300 firefighters remain on the lines of eight large wildfires in California.

Containment and rehabilitation efforts continue and progress is being made to finish off the fires.

A break in the intense late summer heat has allowed firefighters to make some gains against the state's remaining large wildfires. But, summer is not over and some fires continue to burn.
