Bills gain traction in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO – (INT) – State lawmakers have acted on several significant pieces of legislation.

Senate Bill 32 to extend California’s landmark emissions reductions goals has passed the Assembly and is expected to get Governor Brown’s signature.

Legislation designed to amend the California Education Code by removing sections that were dropped during adoption of the Local Control Funding Formula has gotten the governor’s signature.

Another bill authorizes county boards of supervisors to implement a monthly property tax payment program for seniors and individuals currently collecting supplemental security income for a disability.

A proposal to restore lost funding to Riverside County’s four newest cities has been approved by the State Assembly on a bipartisan vote of 77-0.

Attorney General Kamala Harris is applauding the Legislature’s passage of Senate Bill 1150, the California Homeowner Survivor Bill of Rights.

The Legislature also gave thumbs-up to a proposal to protect peace officers and firefighters catastrophically injured in the line of duty.
