Terrorist response cost reimbursement wins favor
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Agencies that sent first-responders to last December’s terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center may be in line to be reimbursed their expenses.

The State Assembly has passed a bill calling for full reimbursement from the state for the response to the attack. It is the first terrorist attack to access funding under the California Disaster Assistance Act.

“The State has a responsibility to make San Bernardino County whole,” said the bill’s co-author Assemblymember Cheryl R. Brown (D-San Bernardino). She argues that not reimbursing the local agencies could mean massive budget cuts to local emergency services.
