RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Police believe there are witnesses who can help them solve the city’s latest homicide.

A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot early Sunday in the parking lot of the Central Community Church on Arlington Avenue.

Luis Quintanar had been taking a late night walk with some friends when they were confronted by the suspect. A fight broke out and ended when the suspect pulled out a gun, opened fire and then fled into the night.

Quintanar died at a local hospital.

The incident was not related to any events at the church.

Investigators were expected to issue a description of the suspect and may assemble a composite drawing.
