Gasoline prices don't follow historical trends
SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Gasoline prices have shifted into neutral, at least for the time being.

“We’re seeing a standstill in gas prices because while there seems to be no local fuel shortage, apparently there isn’t a surplus either,” said Auto Club spokesman Jeffrey Spring.

Spring observed that last year, local gas prices dropped at a pretty brisk pace from the end of August through the end of October. However, Southland drivers are now paying 10 to 15 cents per gallon less than they were at this time last year, even though prices are not dropping.

It's been four years since prices hit an all-time record of nearly $4.69 a gallon in the Inland Empire. Now, motorists are paying nearly $2 less.
