Rewards for AK-47 bandit mount up
CHINO – (INT) – Law enforcement is determined to find and arrest the so-called AK-47 bandit who is suspected in a cross-country crime spree covering the last 4-and-a-half years.

Rewards for the identity of the bandit and his arrest total $125,000.

The thief was wearing body armor and armed with an assault rifle while making his get-away from a Chino bank in February 2012. A police officer was shot and wounded.

Since then, the same bandit has been tied to five additional robberies and one attempted robbery in the states of California, Washington, Idaho, Nebraska and the most recent in Iowa last year.

“The AK-47 Bandit is a dangerous and violent,” warned Chino Police Chief Karen Comstock. “This case remains a priority for our department and we will relentlessly pursue every lead until he is brought to justice.”
