Mail thieves end up in 'dead letter' office
FONTANA - (INT) - Two suspected mail thieves refused to quietly be escorted to the Greybar Hotel.

Witnesses phoned in a report of a mail theft in progress early Thursday. Police quickly spotted the thieves get-away vehicle and gave chase.

The pair lost control on an exit ramp of the Route 210 freeway and tried to outrun officers on foot but failed.

A large amount of stolen mail was recovered.

Police said that Daniel Amesquita, 25, and his passenger, Carlos Jacome, 26, were either on probation or parole for previous crimes.
