HESPERIA – (INT) – A speeding truck driver got more than a ticket when a CHP drug-sniffing K-9 alerted an officer to a large heroin haul.

The truck came to a stop on Interstate 15 near Highway 395.

A search of the truck’s trailer turned up 118 kilo-sized packages of heroin. Its street value was estimated at $11.8 million.

A sheriff’s narcotic task force is questioning the driver about the origin and destination of the heroin. He was arrested on multiple charges of possession and transportation of narcotics.
