Incidents follow passage of marijuana initiative
JURUPA VALLEY – (INT) – An indoor marijuana cultivation has started a fire that heavily damaged on home on Pearl Street.

Firefighters battled high winds Saturday in an effort to prevent flames from spreading to nearby homes.

Once the flames were extinguished, a search warrant turned up evidence of the marijuana cultivation.

Arrested was the resident, Guillermo Romero, age 46.

The incident is the latest in the Inland Empire since California voters approved use of recreational marijuana in the November election. There have been at least four butane honey labs that have touched off house fires in the Inland Empire. Four people have been burned.
