'Max Payne' good box office medicine
HOLLYWOOD--The video game adaptation "Max Payne" had maximum impact on the nation’s box office crowd. The Mark Wahlberg film opened at No. 1 with an estimated $18 million.

"The Secret Life of Bees" pollinated the theaters with $11.1 million in third place. Oliver Stone's "W.", an examination of the Bush presidency,followed in fourth place. The R-rated comedy "Sex Drive" stalled in ninth place.

"Beverly Hills Chihuahua" finished second while boosting its cumulative box office total to $69.1 million.
