Tragedies add somber note to MLK weekend
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Violence did not take a holiday during the 3-day Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend observance. At last ten persons lost their lives in an assortment of incidents across the inland region.

Homicides in private homes and on public streets accounted for most of the deaths.

There were fatal shootings in Moreno Valley, San Bernardino, Montclair, Highland, Temescal Valley and at a shooting range near Corona. A young teenage boy was fatally stabbed outside a Fontana movie theater.

In Riverside, a man’s body was found floating in Lake Evans at Fairmount Park.

On the streets and highways, a traffic collision Monday in Moreno Valley claimed another life and injured two others.
