SAN DIEGO – (INT) - The Border Patrol will focus on Otay Mountain as its top enforcement priority in the San Diego Sector.

Task Force Otay aims at criminal organizations that exploit the vast network of human smuggling routes on Otay Mountain.

Since the onset of Task Force Otay last October, Border Patrol agents arrested more than 1,000 people who illegally entered the U.S. on Otay Mountain. In addition, 39 of those individuals arrested faced federal prosecution for criminal smuggling or immigration violations.
