Metal detectors positioned at county administrative center
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Security is being ramped up at the County Administrative Center.

Beginning Friday, everyone entering the downtown building will walk through a metal detector. Bags will be checked by a security officer with the focus on firearms, clubs, and knives with blades of four inches or longer.

The security points will be in place at the visitor entrance in the front of the building.

These changes follow direction from the County Board of Supervisors as part of a thorough assessment aimed at enhancing security in the building.

Board Chairman John Tavaglione said “vigilance in the workplace is critical to providing a safe environment to do public business.”
