Purchasing managers chime in on local economy
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Local purchasing managers give the region a rosy economic start for 2017.

The Institute of Applied Research at Cal State San Bernardino surveyed 31 purchasing managers. Forty-two percent predicted an upturn in the local economy the coming quarter. It’s the highest level of optimism since 2005. The remainder say it will weaken or remain the same.

The index of leading indicators were all improved including production, new orders, employment, supplier deliveries and inventories. Commodity prices were also up suggesting that inflationary pressures are increasing slightly.
