Crime stats show third year increase
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Crime in the Inland Empire’s largest city in 2016 soared more than 8 percent marking the third consecutive annual increase.

New figures showed increases in every category except for homicide which was unchanged at 10 for the year.

2016 had the most reported number of crimes (12,962) since 2005, but far short of the more than 27,000 reported in 1993.

Aggravated assaults and burglaries led the increase last year.
