Releases from Lake Oroville stepped up
LAKE OROVILLE – (INT) - The Department of Water Resources (DWR) has stepped up the outflow from the Oroville Dam flood control spillway, from 55,000cfs to 60,000cfs.

The DWR made the change in anticipation of more rain. It said the increase is temporary and is expected to better balance water flow in and out of the reservoir.

Meantime, the flood control spillway has remained stable. The increase is not expected to hamper construction and debris removal efforts below the spillway where erosion had damaged the spillway and prompted the evacuation of 200,000 people.
