Postal thieves becoming more brazen, USPS trucks robbed
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – A father and son from Adelanto have been linked to a series of postal truck robberies across Southern California spanning the past 18 months.

Corey Parker Sr., 46, and Corey Parker Jr., 23, have been initially charged in federal court at Riverside with conspiracy to rob the Victorville Post Office on February 23rd.

Prosecutors say postal truck robberies occurred while the trucks were moving or otherwise in transit. During those heists, the thieves jumped on the back of the vehicles and opened the rear door to steal the truck’s contents, specifically registered mail that included cash, checks and money orders. Losses were estimated at moré than $400,000.

The Parkers are scheduled for arraignment March 22nd. The defendants each could face a statutory maximum sentence of five years in federal prison is convicted.
