Are the fish safe to eat?
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – A health advisory concerning the fish in Lake Evans has been modified.
The California Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment said Wednesday that carp, black bass and sunfish taken from the lake can be safely eaten. But, but a do-not-consume recommendation for the lake’s Channel Catfish remains in effect.
The recommendations are based on the levels of mercury and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) measured in fish collected from Lake Evans located in Fairmount Park.
