Radio Shack closing one-third of its stores
INLAND EMPIRE - (INT) - Radio Shack, a once-thriving chain of stores with neat electronic gadgets and parts, is edging closer to sign-off.
It has filed a second time for bankruptcy and announced the closing of hundreds of stores, according to Business Insider.
Nationwide, 552 stores will close including 75 in California.
Ten Inland Empire locations that will shut down include:
Hardman Shopping Center, 5146 Arlington Ave, Riverside
13132 Palm Drive, Desert Hot Springs
Barstow Shopping Center, 1350 E Main St, Barstow
Pic n Save, 14712 La Paz, Victorville
Ramona Plaza, 1458 E Florida Ave, Hemet
Hemet Valley Mall, 2200 W Florida Ave, Hemet
Lake Elsinore Square, 18284 Collier Ave, Lake Elsinore
17171 Foothill Blvd, Fontana
Ontario Village, 624 W Holt Blvd, Ontario
50223 Harrison St, Coachella
These stores have the "lowest sales velocity and highest rent," according to the court filing.
The company said it will "continue to evaluate" the fate of its remaining 1,000 stores.
