VICTORVILLE – (INT) – A Nicaraguan national, who had once been deported back to his native country, has hanged himself at the federal Adelanto Detention Facility.

Osmar Epifanio Gonzalez-Gadba, 32, died Tuesday at the Victor Valley Global Medical Center.

Gonzalez-Gadba was arrested December 29th by Border Patrol officers near Otay Mesa where he’d crossed the US-Mexico border. At the time of his death, ICE had been seeking a travel document from the Nicaraguan government to facilitate his removal.

Gonzalez-Gadba is the fifth detainee to pass away in ICE custody this fiscal year.
