California’s 5th season about to open
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Heavy winter rains have not only produced a dazzling abundance of wildflowers, but fields and hillsides of weeds.

The green-up that began in December is beginning to cure out in the absence of rain.

It’s the opening of the wildland fire season and it could be a volatile one as lush fields become tinder dry.

Fire authorities are asking landowners to begin their weed abatement efforts. Those using mowers are urged to use caution as a spark could start a fire.
