Pace of job growth hits 3.8 percent INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Job growth is surging across the Inland Empire.
During the past 12-months, the State Employment Development Department estimated that the number of jobs in Riverside and San Bernardino counties increased by 52,400 for a gain of 3.8 percent. Government led the way with the addition of 4,300 jobs during March. On the negative side, three industries posted month-over job losses. Trade, transportation, and utilities (down 1,300), leisure and hospitality (down 800), and financial activities (down 400). Meantime, the jobless rate remained at 5.3 percent. The total number of people working in the Inland Empire continued at just over 2-million. Story Date: April 28, 2017
